Roses, Roses, Roses...is back Home!

And isn't it glorious! I just love all of the beautiful stitching and ribbon work the ladies did! Thank you so very much to Cathy L., Meg W., Rita C., and Ruby R. for their beautiful work. Want to see some close ups? Of course you do!!!
So pretty, tiny little sweetheart ribbon roses, delicate lace trims, silk ribbon roses, and perfect bullion rose cluster.
What a great idea...cross-stitching some roses on top of the fabric! I'm gonna borrow this idea for sure...cause I have some waste canvas around here somewhere! Ingenious...and beautiful!
Delicate little lace trim, fluttery little butterflies, and one is painted with pink nail polish...which I do myself too! Loved that!
Aren't these just stupendous! I love the ribbon work, and the charms...wonderful!
This large rose just proves that you don't have to shy away from large motifs! Just lovely.
Pretty, pretty little ribbon clusters...like walking along a garden path.
A second little fluttery butterfly, Very unique...made from layers of fabric cut to shape. Hope you enjoyed the eye candy...as much as I am. It's even more glorious first-hand of course...photos just never do our work full justice. I'm a happy, happy girl today...after having received this block back home!

Roses, Roses, Roses for Meg

The Roses, Roses, Roses round robin is coming to a close. This is the finished block for Meg...isn't it just gorgeous! She wanted a Yellow Rose for Texas theme...so we tried to stay true to that request, while working with the fabrics she constructed her block of. The ribbon work by the ladies before me is phenominal! Love every little smidge of this block!
Here is my meager contribution...the bottom right corner...
...and a yellow rose beaded cabochon.
My largest ribbon rose is a simple free-form type...roll the center...
...here's a better photo.
Stitch it down to an interfacing base. Gather the remainder of the long end of the ribbon...and wrap around the base.
Add some extra little petals to the base...gathering the bottom of each before stitching down...
And her is the final little rose. After cutting away the excess interfacing and stitching to the block...I added some green leaves around it. Easy, breezy!

Roses, roses, roses - Rita

My work on Rita's block in the Roses, Roses, Roses crazy quilt round robin over on Crazy Quilter's International is complete. Let me show you some of the motifs I added. First was a crochet basket filled with flowers and a tiny bow stitched to the top.

Next was two pieces of gorgeous dyed lace I got from Cathy K's Etsy shop...lovely! It was a shame to cover some of it...but, in keeping with the rose theme...I placed a wire ribbon that was made by gathering up some ribbon after rolling the center. The leaves are velvet on the bottom with hand painted dyed lace above.

The smaller piece of lace got a little button cluster. Rita didn't want any large clusters...but I think this little one is just fine.

Lastly, for motifs...I added two iron-on butterfly motifs...

but, I sewed them in place...and did not iron them.

Tomorrow...I'll show you my seams...and the final block before it is mailed to the next person in our group.

Roses, roses, roses...moving on

I have completed my portion of stitching on this gorgeous block...and am moving it on to the next person. But, before it goes...here is the last little seam and a beaded dragonfly for you to check out!

I also added a little basket of roses...which look more like apples since the basket is that style (sorry Cathy L.)...into the corner. But, it's still cute!

And a photo of the block as it leaves my house...it was a pure joy to work on!

Here's the next seam completed...with the butterfly breaking up the space...like the heart did on the last seam.

Roses, roses, roses...

I'm working on a round robin called Roses, Roses, Roses. I have several seams partially done...but have finished up this first one. Thought you might like to see it.
And I really like to "break" seams up by introducing a little lace motif right in the middle of the stitching...it creates more interest than just putting motifs in the center of a patch...surrounded by seam stitching (IMHO). So, if you've not considered this before...think about it. Hugs! There is a second seam on the block where this is also the plan...but you'll have to wait a little longer before I get a photo of it...cause it's not finished yet. Hugs! I'm back to stitching...ya'll have a great Sunday!
