Piddling...

For some reason, this week has just flown by! And, my needlecrafts have been mostly little piddling things while the baby was sleeping. Piddling is just like doodling...except you do it with a needle and thread...instead of pencil and paper! Ha!

No pattern, no real design plan, just stitch whatever comes to your mind. I decided to use some scrapes of felt and the threads, beads, ribbon that was just laying on my work table to cover some bits of wood. Not at all sure what to do with these now that they are done. Well, the roses still need a smidge of ribbon glued around the edge to be done....but, close enough for posting.

Today, I'm off to clean up my sewing area some...as it is a cluttered mess!

Catching Up

Well, the sinus crud is still here...but much better. I'm trying to catch up on some stitching and other things. I have a new set of monogram designs for you...almost ready. Here is a sneak peek...and I'll post more when the first one is stitched up...half way there.

The design is traced on my linen, and I'm about half done with stitching the A portion.
Sorry for the dark bottom on the above photo...but I just can't get a decent photo with this Ipad4 phone! I want one of those Canon Rebel cameras...but, they are so expensive! I've saving my pennies!

Yesterday, Aidan and I also made more paper ballerinas and hung a little mobile from the ceiling in the sewing room...

...for Brady to enjoy!

Do You Homeschool? Or Do Children's Crafts?

Well, if you do either of these...you really seriously need to check out this site. I'm not even sure how I found it, but I've been following it for weeks now...and love it. I don't have the time for all of the projects, but have done at least three of them when Aidan has visited...and she always has a good time with them.
This little sheep is one idea out of hundreds...but is a good example of the easy nature of the crafts, and that most supplies needed are really usually on-hand anyway!
So, please check them out....Krokotak
The site is in Russian, but can easily be translated...there is a button at the top right.

Productive but... Not Productive

This weekend I got a lot of things finished...however, none of them were on my To-Do List.
Aidan was here all weekend...as we created Valentine Cards.
Actually, she did most all of the work...and I helped only in punching the corners for the cards that were 2-ply paper...which were too thick for her to get the punch to work. Oh, and I contributed the spelling of some words...hugs! (See the corner of my card, that's Aidan's drawing of me, her, and Buddy. Aren't I slim? Ha!)
We also made a necklace and earrings. The necklace is a gift to my daughter's boyfriend's mother. Wow, say that fast three times! "Mamma T" is the lady's name (we have not really met). But, she is being very kind and generous to my grand-daughter...and certainly very worthy of some of my beads...so I was happy to contribute all of the supplies! We created three strands and put them together into a necklace. Aidan did the middle strand with the little pendant.
See the little bear? Aidan says that Mamma T loves bears...so, she shall have one on her necklace too. Aidan also re-learned about "patterns" and "repeats" while we worked.
Aidan went back home yesterday afternoon...with an arm load of cards and gifts!
The dog and I were worn out! But, in a good way...and we both slept late this morning!
All is good in my world today...and I hope that it is in yours as well!
