A Short Video of some Motifs/Techniques Learned in the Free Courses!
Remember that dance?
Well, I was trying that all day yesterday...almost threw my hip out!!
The entire day was filled with chicken blocks as I fused my way through the remainder of the blocks...and got them all finished...and more!
In total, there are sixteen blocks...for a really large quilt.
Some you have already seen on the blog...here are the rest of them.
And, this is the fabric I'll be using for the sashing. It will help the chicken's to hop right off the quilt.
This is another of FatCat Patterns block of the month quilt patterns.
Got my funky chicken block done this evening. Was supposed to can tomatoes...but we got a huge wind and rain storm (thunder is still rolling in the sky)...so I was afraid that the electricity might go off and did not want to be in the middle all those tomatoes when that happened. With an electric stove...that would have been a real shame to lose all those tomatoes. Okay, that's my story...and I'm sticking to it! And, a nap in the middle of a storm was just a really good idea that I didn't want to miss out on! Tomatoes will be on the agenda for tomorrow...seriously, they will!
Yesterday, I managed to get caught back up on my funky chicken blocks. These are from the Block of the Month patterns over FatCat...she posts a new one each month, free...or you can purchase the entire set.
Sorry the photos are so strange...but I think there is dirt on my camera lens. Gonna go check that out right now....hugs!
Here's my funky chicken for April. I'll start putting these together into rows soon.
Finished my Funky Chicken block #2...so on track with this Block of the Month series by FatCat Patterns. These are fun...and certainly are Funky! Still need to find some time to blanket stitch the edges...but at least the fusible applique part is done!
Some of us over at the message board, Crafts-Quilting & Needlework, on HGTV.com are sewing Blocks of the Month...Funky Chicken..over at FatCat Patterns. Here is my January block. The fusible applique still needs blanket stitching around the pieces...but I have not yet decided if I want to do that by hand or machine.
