A Short Video of some Motifs/Techniques Learned in the Free Courses!
Stupid, stupid, stupid...
...and very lucky! This evening, while trying to "loosen" some fudge from a backing dish so it could be washed...with a large sharp knife (did I say stupid?)...it released...and went into my left palm. Fortunate for me that it did not go all the way through my hand. The cut is about a half an inch long and about a quarter inch deep. Hurts like heck! But, the bleeding stopped after a few minutes of pressure...and now I have some anti-biotic ointment on it and a bandage. Will get another bandaid on it before going to bed.
Don't try to loosen up stuck food from your baking dishes with a long sharp large knife!
Duh!
Seriously, I need a keeper!!!
And no...I didn't want to eat the fudge...just get it all out and in the trash.
Edited to add: Check out my bandage cover. Isn't it stylish? It's an old sock that Aidan has outgrown...the toe and heal have been cut out for my fingers and thumb. And, it's pretty comfortable.
I think I have a new quilting glove too!

OW-ch! That must have hurt - are you sure you shouldn't have it stitched? Maybe the doctor could do something fancy with his stitching if you took along one of your books?
Wait, are you living MY life??? My DIL says it isn't really a family gathering until I've cut myself, I keep doing that same stupid thing over and over again. I am a slow learner! Hope your hand gets all better soon.
We gave my Mom the Indian nickname "runs with scissors" since she is (apparently) like you and an accident waiting to happen. Hope you heal up quickly and make sure you watch for infection!
Oh, my goodness. I'm so glad it wasn't more serious. Hope it heals quickly.
oh so glad it wasn't worse, bad enough as it is. Sometimes I wonder why we do something like that. Hugs and keep it clean. xoxo
OUCH . . . I hope it heals quickly. It's not really stupid. Creative people tend to think outside the box! LOL All that to throw the fudge away? What a waste of fudge. Makes me want to go find something sweet. Unfortunately fudge isn't in my low fat, no salt, less sugar lifestyle! :-)
❤ your work and your blog!
Couldn't see the bottom picture, but the top one makes my legs hurt - standard for me when I see bandages. So glad you are doing well.
i hope you heal fast.I know how much you like to stitch.
Love the sock idea...and pink is your color. Hope it heals fast and you are very lucky you didn't cut something that effects the fingers.
Sure hope your hand gets better. I be that hurt a lot. I know what you mean by feeling stupid, I stabbed my knee once with a steel crochet hook and had to get a doctor to remove it. Soooo embarrassing. Love the glove. I will have to remember that.
Gracious! Kathy, I seriously hope you're healing fast! I do love your chic glove-cover! Especially that bright pink color!! :)
